The John S. Livingston Scholarship was established on June 5, 2022, to honor Rev. Livingston’s 37 years of ministry in this church and his passion for working with children and youth.

This scholarship is awarded to church members who are graduating high school students, have demonstrated Christian beliefs through activities with the church and/or community, and who plan to continue their formal education.

Applicants submit an essay that demonstrates the above criteria.  In addition, the applicant must submit a recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, or an adult friend who has known the applicant for more than five years.

Anyone who would like to contribute to the John S. Livingston Scholarship Fund may do so at any time. Send a check made out to the United Church of Rowayton and indicate that it is for the scholarship fund.

Emig Fund

In 2019, the church established the Emig Fund. Named in honor of Reverend Donald W. Emig, founder of The United Church of Rowayton and its pastor for forty years, the Fund is administered by the Board of Christian Outreach (BOCO). Its mission is to improve the lives of those in need in the greater Norwalk area with love and compassion. Each year, BOCO may award Emig Fund grants to individuals and agencies that mirror BOCO’s mission in charitable, religious, literacy, and educational areas. These awards are in addition to the financial aid that BOCO provides to local agencies.
