Special Services
Ash Wednesday - February 22, 2012 at 8:00pm
Throughout the years this service has become very meaningful for many of us. It is a time to have our spirits lifted with moments of prayer and quiet reflection upon the scripture lesson and readings shared. We also share Holy Communion and find strength and renewal in the Bread of Life and Cup of Love. We will also offer the imposition of ashes. We encourage you to begin looking toward Jerusalem by worshipping with us on Ash Wednesday.
Early Morning Lenten Worship
Pastor John Livingston will be leading four early morning worship services during the Season of Lent. These services will begin at 6:30am and last for a half hour. There will be time for quiet reflection and contemplation, personal prayer and the hearing of scripture. The services will be offered on Wednesday February 29, March 7, 14, 21, 28 and April 4.
4th Grade First Communion April 1, 2012
On April 1st a Special Communion Service will be held and 4th graders will make their First Communion.
Maundy Thursday, Holy Communion and Tenebrae - April 5, 2012 at 8:00pm
This powerful service involves the lighting and extinguishing of candles as a reminder of the darkness that covered the Earth after the passion and crucifixion of Christ. Tenebrae, the Latin word for "darkness," is also observed to impress upon our hearts the tragic consequences of humanity's sin and the greatness of the Saviour's sacrifice at Calvary. Throughout this service, there will be readings highlighting the Passion Story of our Lord Jesus Christ. You are encouraged to join us for this meaningful service.
Good Friday - April 6, 2012 at 12 Noon
Reflections of the Seven Last Words of Jesus. The Rowayton United Methodist Church will be joining us for this special service of dramatic readings.

Confirmation Sunday - May 6, 2012
The first Sunday of May is when we come together to celebrate Confirmation Sunday. On that special day, we gather together to both support and witness the journey of this year’s 10th Grade Confirmation Class as they officially become members of the Congregation.
Special Memorial Service - May 27, 2012
On the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend we remember all deaths throughout the past year. Please join us for this special worship service of remembrance at 10:15 am.
High School Senior Recognition - June 10, 2012
In June, Pastor John Livingston will recognize our graduating seniors during a worship service. Please join him as we affirm our commitment to supporting our own high school seniors and walk with them as they continue their life’s journey.
Interfaith Thanksgiving Service - Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 7:30pm
We will have the wonderful opportunity again to gather with West Norwalk Congregational Church, St. Matthew Church and Temple Shalom for this festive Thanksgiving event. The service will begin at 7:30pm and will include particpation by all the clergy and choirs. Join the excitement of this wonderful service at St. Matthew church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk.
Early Morning Advent Worship
During the Season of Advent you are invited to four early morning worship services in the Sanctuary. These services will begin at 6:30am and will be a half hour long. Led by Pastor John Livingston, services will consist of scripture, readings, prayer and silent meditation. The services will be offered on Wednesday November 28, December 5, 12 and 19.
Christmas Eve Worship
On Christmas eve we will have two services. There will be a Family Worship Service with traditional readings and carols at 4:00pm. Our Candlelight Service begins at 11:00pm.
