SEPTEMBER - JUNE
10:15 AM Sundays -- The United Church of Rowayton, 210 Rowayton Avenue
From the first Sunday after Labor Day, through June our services are held at 10:15 a.m. except for special services such as our Interfaith Thanksgiving Service and Maundy Thursday Service, Good Friday Service in addition to two services on Christmas Eve and three on Easter Sunday.
Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month.
Summer Worship (July-August)
The worship experience of our Family of Faith remains to be an important and vital part of our overall program. During July and August we will be offering two options for worship at different times and places Worship leadership will be shared by our Pastor John Livingston and the Rev. Holly Adams.
The first service will be held in Pinkney Park on July 2nd and will begin at 9:15am. This outdoor service, which has become very meaningful to many of our people, is casual, as people bring their own lawn chairs/blanket, coffee and enjoy the beauty of the Five Mile River and the peaceful setting by the gazebo. All are welcome - don't forget to bring the kids. If it is raining, the service will be held in the Meeting House.
The second service will be held at the United Congregational Church on Richards Avenue and will begin at 10:30am. The same message will be shared at both services. We hope this flexible schedule will help you to keep worship an important and vital part of your week during the summer.
Confirmation Sunday - May 7, 2017
The first Sunday of May is when we come together to celebrate Confirmation Sunday. On that special day, we gather together to both support and witness the journey of this year’s 10th Grade Confirmation Class as they officially become members of the Congregation.
Special Memorial Service - May 29, 2017
On the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend we remember all deaths throughout the past year. Please join us for this special worship service of remembrance at 10:15 am.
High School Senior Recognition - June 11, 2017
In June, Pastor John Livingston will recognize our graduating seniors during a worship service. Please join him as we affirm our commitment to supporting our own high school seniors and walk with them as they continue their life’s journey.
Christmas Eve Worship
On Christmas eve we will have two services. There will be a Family Worship Service with traditional readings and carols at 4:00pm. Our Candlelight Service begins at 11:00pm.
Ash Wednesday - February 14, 2018 at 8:00pm
Throughout the years this service has become very meaningful for many of us. It is a time to have our spirits lifted with moments of prayer and quiet reflection upon the scripture lesson and readings shared. We also share Holy Communion and find strength and renewal in the Bread of Life and Cup of Love. We will also offer the imposition of ashes. We encourage you to begin looking toward Jerusalem by worshipping with us on Ash Wednesday.
